Support TRAAC

There are a number of ways you can support the senior center.  No matter how you choose to support the senior center though, know that we stretch every donation as far as we can.  The majority of our budget goes to providing programming and support to help seniors live longer, fuller, and more independent lives.

Here are just a few ways you can support the Pottstown Area Seniors’ Center:

New!  Now you can support the renovations and have your or your family’s name permanently installed in our dining room, where it will warm the hearts of older adults forever.  Two options are available, a 3 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ tile with 3 lines of text, or a 7 1/2″ square tile with 6 lines of text.

You can buy your tile online or send in a check with this form.  Whether you pay online with a credit card, or send a check, you still must return the form with your preferred text.  Click here to download the form.

Leave a Legacy

What will your legacy be?  How will you be remembered?  Many people expect that their children and grandchildren will be their legacy.  Others have left their mark on the world through their business or their public service.  Only the very rich leave a legacy through their generosity, right?  WRONG!

Legacy giving, also known as planned giving, is not just for the more well-to-do people.  And it does not need to be complicated.  Almost anyone can leave a generous and sustaining gift to the organization of their choice if they plan ahead.

Here are two easy ways to cement your legacy while improving the lives of seniors in the Pottstown area:

  • A bequest:  A bequest is planned giving in its simplest form.  This is a directive in your will to give a part of your estate to an organization.  It may be a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of your assets when you pass.    Talk to your attorney about adding your favorite charitable organizations to your will.
  • Life insurance:  There are a few options with life insurance.  If you are paying premiums on a policy you no longer need, consider naming a charity as the beneficiary.  What may be a small premium over the years could add up to a sizable gift for a charity.  Depending on how the insurance is set up, there may even be tax benefits for you in your lifetime. Talk to your insurer or an estate planner to learn more.

Planned giving does not need to be complex.  You can leave a legacy that will benefit thousands of seniors for years to come.  Talk to your attorney or estate planner about which planned giving options may be right for your situation.

Donors who notify us of their plans will be honored on our “Legacy Wall” in the new senior center.

If you have questions about planned giving, or would like to discuss your plans with the senior center, call Brian Parkes at 610-323-5305.

Support seniors in our community, have fun!

What could be better?  Here is your excuse to spend a day golfing and feel good about helping seniors in our community.  Even better - we play a scramble format (best ball), so you are guaranteed a great score, no matter at what level you play.

-  Help us continue to provide a welcoming place for the seniors in our community

-  Help us serve nearly 20,000 free, hot, and nutritious meals every year to keep seniors healthy and reduce their financial burden.

-  Improve the lives of seniors, who often become isolated from the community they helped build.

-  Centers such as ours help older adults live independently longer.  This reduces the cost of care by one-half every additional year they spend at home - the best investment you can make!

Changes this year...

Please join the TriCounty Active Adult Center on Monday, September 25, 2017 for the fifth annual Golf Outing.  We return to Hickory Valley's ambassador course this year for another great round of golf.  Everyone's favorite contests from last year will be back - the 50/50 Pot of Gold on hole 16, a 50/50 putting contest, and a number of other skill contests throughout the course.

This year the outing will be in the morning, starting at 8 with a continental breakfast, and will be followed by a hot picnic lunch at 1:00.

All proceeds from this golf outing benefit the TriCounty Active Adult Center, a home-away-from-home for the older adults in our community.

A fun day of golf for you can help seniors live longer, fuller, and more independent lives, freeing them from the isolation of their homes and providing the support they need to live on their own.
