The TriCounty Active Adult Center has exercise programs for all abilities.  Every class welcomes new participants, and any of our friendly staff will help you find a class for your level of fitness.  In addition, we have a large indoor walking track, cardio exercise equipment, and hand weights if you prefer to work out on your own.

From Sit and Get Fit to Golden Zumba, we have a class to help you stay active, improve your balance and muscle tone, and get healthy.  Come exercise and have fun with people your own age!

The Arthritis Foundation has developed a six-week program to promote education about successful physical activity for people with arthritis. This program is intended to promote education about self-management and walking safely and comfortably and to encourage participants to continue their walking program and explore other exercise and self-management programs that deliver proven benefits for people with arthritis.

Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong. Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance!

Line Dancing

Line dancing is very popular. It's fun, there is great camaraderie among the Seniors, and you don't need a partner, and it's an easy way to stay healthy, both mentally and physically.  All are welcome! No experience necessary.

Self Defense for Seniors will engage you both mentally and physically. Martial arts training for seniors can be anything the student chooses to make it be because it allows people of all levels and physical abilities to participate up to their comfort level without encouraging them to go past it.

Walking Track

 Walking is the best wonder drug for senior citizens according to the National Institute on Aging. It is suggested that regular aerobic activity such as walking has health benefits across the board for older Americans. The advantages of walking as exercise include alleviation of arthritis symptoms, less anxiety and depression and overall heart health, among other perks. Our walking track will be available to you most of the time we are open. Come and check us out!

Sit and Get Fit

A low impact exercise program using light weights, bands and balls all done from your chair.  The one hour program meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00 and is perfect for those that use walkers, canes or want to stretch and flex at a low intensity.

Tai Chi is a Chinese form of martial arts that involves slow, controlled and low-impact movements that can be easy for seniors--even those with limited movement. This form of exercise can help to relieve stress, help with arthritis pain, strengthen lower body and lower blood pressure to name just a few benefits. 50+ Fit (formerly Healthy Steps in Motion)

50+ Fit, formerly Healthy Steps in Motion, taught by a certified instructor, follows guidelines from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.  The hour long class will focus on flexibility, strength, and balance, as well as fall prevention.
