Construction Progress

Check out our progress!

Renovations are moving along at full speed (again, after another brief hiatus)!  As of October 2016, all of the demolition has been done, all of the new walls have been framed, all of the many new windows and doors have been cut out of the concrete block exterior, and the new windows have been installed.  Rough plumbing and electrical installation is complete, as is installation of all new ductwork and much of the machinery for the new heating and air conditiong systems.  The elevator has been installed and is about 90% complete, and drywall installation is almost complete.  Upstairs, the walls have their first coats of paint, and the grid for the drop ceiling has been hung.  While we've had some delays recently due to the required drawing and engineering revisions, we are back on track and hope to be done in just a couple months.

We need your help now more than ever – a number of unforeseen issues have popped up that need to be addressed, including additional beams, a water line that was not up to code and was replaced, and a sewer line that needs to be replaced due to cracks and a partial collapse.  While we expected, and budgeted for, some issues to arise, we did not expect to have to address issues outside of the building, and not of this magnitude.  The water line replacement required us to dig up the front parking lot and part of the street, and the sewer line replacement requires us to dig up the back parking lot.  Please consider sponsoring a much-needed item for the new center to help us offset these expenses, or buy a tile in our new dining room.  Learn more about all of these options by downloading a form here.  Thank you!
